What are Guasha and Facial Cupping?
Both Guasha and Cupping are ancient Chinese Medical practices. For facial guasha, we utilize two small Jade squares that we glide along the skin and use to stimulate acupuncture and facial motor points. They can be used to iron out wrinkles and increase circulation. Jade is very cooling, it reduces puffiness, brightens your complexion, and promotes circulation. For cupping we use small facial cups that create suction as we slide them across the face. This increases blood circulation, relieves muscle tension, and promotes cellular repair and collagen production. Unlike cupping on the body, facial cupping rarely leaves any visible mark. Both cupping and guasha are hugely beneficial at sculpting the face and neck, moving fluids, and creating a dewy afterglow.
What are the benefits of a Guasha/Cupping Facial?
Guasha and Cupping are both effective at increasing lymphatic drainage, reducing headaches, relieving sinus congestion, and helping those suffering from TMJ disorder.
Guasha is a scraping method that has been shown to detoxify, relieve tension, and reduce puffiness, inflammation, and sinus pressure. It also encourages lymphatic flow while lifting and smoothing the skin.
Facial cupping has been shown to increase blood circulation, minimize the appearance of scars, fine lines, and wrinkles, tone the chin, jawline, neck and décolletage, decrease puffiness, help regulate oil production, improve product absorption and brighten the skin.
